In each solution Black blocks a line to prevent a check by one of his own pieces, which then blocks a queen line to help the king to the mating square. A selfblock completes the preparations. The reciprocal play and overall economy are impressive. The d8 knight is the only cookstopper, preventing a mate with the king on e6 and the queen on f7.
