A problem whose try play and post-key play feature both sides making similar errors.
1.Se3? threat 2.Sc4 fails to the only defence 1...Sb6! because although Black has blocked his bishop and a waiting move would suffice White has obstructed the pawn which could have provided such a move. 1.Sxc3? threatens 2.Sb5, but after 1...Sc7 2.e3 Black has 2...Bb6!
After 1.e4 fxe4 White plays his threat 2.Se3, since after 2...Sb6 3.f5 puts Black in zugzwang. 1...Bd8 is met by 2.Sxc3, and 2...Sc7 3.exf5 again puts Black in zugzwang. 1...Bc7 would also be met by 2.Sxc3.
Some sources describe the content as a combination of black and white Seeberger, but that theme requires a critical move of the thematic piece before it is blocked in, so only 1...Bd8 would qualify as a Seeberger variation.
